Procedure Description
- This procedure is done on an outpatient basis under sedation and local or general anesthesia.
- The crooked cartilage is partially removed, straightened, or both.
Recuperation and Healing
- The septum is splinted at the end of the operation.
- If nasal packing is used, it is usually removed in two to seven days.
- There is usually no visible bruising after septoplasty.
